About Najma The Maths Tutor

Najma The Maths Tutor was established in 2020. Our aim is to provide structured, thoughtful mathematics support that helps students build confidence and make steady, meaningful progress.

Our focus is not on quick fixes or last-minute cramming, but on developing understanding, consistency, and strong mathematical habits over time. Students are supported across GCSE and A Level Mathematics, with lessons designed to build both confidence and independence.

Our Motto

Learning. Growing. Excelling. Together.

Why Do Students Struggle with Maths?

From experience, we found that many students begin to struggle with mathematics:

  • when there are gaps in their mathematical understanding,
  • when their confidence starts to decline but nothing is done to mitigate this early,
  • when they rely on memorising methods rather than understanding concepts, and/or
  • when exam questions become more complex and unfamiliar.

Over time, this can lead to frustration and a lack of confidence. Our aim is to address these challenges step by step, rebuilding both our students’ mathematical understanding and attainment.

Our Teaching Approach

Learning is most effective when it is structured and purposeful. Our teaching focuses on clarity and strong foundations, addressing misconceptions early, and building understanding step by step.

Students are encouraged to grow in confidence and independence through guided practice, discussion, and reflection. Rather than relying on memorised methods, they learn how to think mathematically.
